Wet grip

 

Scale of 7 classes: from A (best wet grip) to G (worst wet grip).

 

Wet grip indicates the tyre's braking performance on a wet road surface.

 

The braking distance of class G and class A tyres can vary up to 30%, or 18 meters for a conventional passenger car.  18 meters is about 4 car lengths.

The tyre features a asymmetric tread pattern, to enhance handling performance in both wet and dry conditions.

An optimal wet performance is achieved through the use of specially designed 4 wide main grooves within the tread, to quickly and efficiently remove surface water from the path of the tyre - also helping in the reduced risk of aquaplaning.

Kumho have also incorporated an aerodynamic shoulder design, for improved air resistance - in turn helping to enhance the tyre's fuel efficient capabilities.

    Studded tyre i.e. spiked winter tyre.

     

    Siped winter tyre (Northern Europe) – suitable for winter conditions and temperatures below zero. Tyre is made of soft rubber mixture and has tread pattern suitable for snow and ice.

     

    Siped winter tyre (Western Europe) – suitable for snowless roads in temperatures above zero. Harder rubber mixture.

    NB! In temperatures below zero, the tyres become more rigid and lose their grip noticeably.
